...and so the ride and riders continued heading towards the border with Malawi. The morning ride took them through a mountainous area of bananas and tobacco...

(I presume not on the same tree but being from the city one is only used to seeing food in the supermarket so not too sure!) up to a height of 9000ft reaching the border of Malawi by early afternoon.

The border crossing was hectic with goats, adults and children milling around, it was at this time that Jim had a close encounter with a pig! I will let Jim fill you in on the details when or should I say if they ever gain access to the Internet again.

Spent the night in a small hotel on Lake Nyasa run by a girl from Scotland who is a doctor working for an NGO in Malawi. John said they had the 'best food so far' that night (I presume he means on the trip rather then in his whole life...)
